Betty Greene: The Girl Who Longed to Fly by Laura Caputo-Wickham, tells the story of Betty Greene, who as a young girl always wanted to fly.  Betty’s wish to learn to fly comes true, and she uses her skills to serve with the Women Airforce Service Pilots during World War II.  When the war ends, she combines her passion to fly with her passion for Jesus, and helped set up a mission which is known today as the Mission Aviation Fellowship.  Over Betty’s lifetime, she made over 4,640 flights, served in 12 countries, and landed in around 20 more.

Children will enjoy this beautifully illustrated children’s biography, which can be read to young children aged 4-5 and read by children aged 6 plus.  Part of the Do Great Things for God series.  By exploring the lives of inspiring Christian women, this series will enthuse young children about the great things they can do for God.
