Steve Walton is Associate Research Fellow and Tutor in New Testament at Trinity College, Bristol. He previously served as Professor in New Testament at St Mary’s University, Twickenham, and as a Research Fellow at Tyndale House, Cambridge. He was formerly Professor of New Testamentat London School of Theology, where he lectured for 14 years. He is a born and bred Yorkshireman who previously taught at St John’s College, Nottingham, served as chaplain to the Bishop of St Albans, in parish ministry, and in student ministry. He is presently engaged in writing the Word Biblical Commentary on Acts.
Outside his academic and theological interests, he is a retired international volleyball referee (he officiated at three Paralympic Games, and four world and two European championships in sitting volleyball, the form of the game played by athletes with disabilities), and worked in training and coaching referees. He lives in west London with his wife, Ali, and their dog, Flora.
