Jesus, Only and Always (Hebrews)

As we prepare for Easter, Peter Brain invites us to contemplate afresh our living Saviour and all he accomplished on the cross.  Hebrews reminds us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever and that through him, God has graciously given us all things.  It reminds us of the uniqueness of Christ and strengthens our resolve to follow him.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the constant focus of Hebrews. In a day when we are tempted to downplay his uniqueness, Hebrews is a timely reminder that we do so at our peril. In Christ we gain all that God would graciously give us. In helping us to see why Christ is unique and therefore the only one who can rescue us from the deadness of religion and give us the freedom and confidence born of grace, Hebrews is well worth our attention.
