From beginning to end, Leviticus foeshadows Christ. Almost everything in Leviticus-from scapegoat to high priest-points to Christ. The redemptions, the celebrations, the purifications-they are all shadows; “the reality, however, is found in Christ” (Colossians 2:17). Leviticus reveals that Christ and His crucifixion were God’s plan from the beginning, and not just a random event in human history.
